To the Alpha Upsilon chapter of
Sigma Sigma Sigma at James Madison University. Here you will find everything that is essential to us sisters including our history, symbols, philanthropy information, and what you need to know about recruitment. Sigma Sigma Sigma exists to provide a lifelong sorority experience for women. In conjunction with the formation of this Mission, we reaffirm our commitment to the Sigma Sigma Sigma Declaration of Principles. These Principles elaborate on three basic tenets, which are the reasons for our existence as a Sisterhood.
To insure a perpetual bond of friendship To develop strong womanly character To promote high standards of conduct

Family Weekend Why Your Daughter Should Join Tri Sigma
We know parents are worried about their child going off to college- their safety, the new friends they meet, how their grades hold up- the sisters here at the Alpha Upsilon chapter of Sigma Sigma Sigma assure you that your daughter will only benefit by going through recruitment.Tri Sigma offers girls from all walks of life a chance to establish lifelong friendship. We pride ourselves in our level of sisterhood. We encourage every older girl to get to know new members and make them feel as welcome and accepted as possible. New members have plenty of opportunities to get to know older sisters as well as other girls in their pledge class which makes for an unbreakable bond.
Tri Sigma strives for and rewards scholastic achievement. We make sure your daughter's GPA is the highest it can possibly be. If your daughter ever finds herself struggling, we have a program established to help her get back on track. Being one of the largest sorority chapters on campus, we have sisters involved in nearly every major that JMU has to offer and who are ready to provide tutoring and study assistance.Tri Sigma offers plenty of opportunities for sisters and new members to get involved in the community and hold leadership positions. Even before initiation, new members are encouraged to join committees and run for leadership positions not only in Tri Sigma but in the greater Greek community as well.
